In 1966, U.S. Metal Container was the only gas can manufacturer remaining in the United States, located where we still call home—Miami, Oklahoma.

U.S. Metal Container provided the traditional, olive-drab jerry can to the U.S. military throughout WWII and after. It was a simple business- one product for one customer. In 1967, that same product was painted bright red and sold to retailers across the country. Today, the red jerry can is an American icon.

In 1987, the first line of plastic gas cans was developed and quickly took the market by storm. As U.S. Metal Container entered more plastic product lines the name no longer fit quite right. In 1992, U.S. Metal Container became “Blitz U.S.A,” a nod to our flagship product, also known as the “Blitz can” in its time.

For 20 years, Blitz U.S.A. developed successful product lines such as oil change accessories, vehicle ramps, and even pet supplies, all while continually innovating and holding marketleadership in fuel containment. In 2006 our pet division branched off to become Bergan, LLC. In 2011, our automotive accessories, storage & organization, and lawn & garden divisions formed F3 Brands, LLC.

Today, Blitz U.S.A. has returned to our roots, doing what we’ve done best since day one. We started with just one customer. We now have retail partners across the U.S. and around the globe.
